Course contents

The PhD Program in Cognitive Brain Sciences is a fulltime 3-year joint program with the University of Pavia.
The PhD Program is aimed at providing an advanced training in neuroscientific research, focusing on the understanding of the neural processes underlying cognitive functions and behaviour during the lifespan, both in normal conditions and in neurological and psychiatric diseases, and it is strongly oriented towards an interdisciplinary approach. The aim is to train a new generation of cognitive neuroscientists capable of synthesising concepts and methods from different disciplines in an integrated approach to the study of the mind/brain relationship that not only increases competitiveness within traditional disciplinary departments, but also promotes the progress in advanced and new research, and the transfer of knowledge to Health and Education fields.

e) research project (see guidelines on the IUSS website). The candidate who intends to compete for both the free scholarship and one of specific-topic scholarships is required to submit 2 separate research projects (NB: specify the reference to the PNRR scholarship in the project header). In case of specific-topic scholarship’s assignment, the research project presented will be binding for the PhD program conduct.

- 1 position with scholarship funded by University of Pavia through National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) - DM 351/2022 – PNRR Research, on the following topic: “Società e cultura del benessere: il ruolo della musica nel modulare i processi cognitivi nell’uomo”;
- 1 position with scholarship funded by University of Pavia through National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) - DM 351/2022 – PNRR Research, on the following topic: “Salute e benessere nella ageing society: percorsi personalizzati dalla diagnosi alla riabilitazione dei disturbi della rappresentazione del corpo nell’ictus”.
