Course contents

The Master in Wine & Spirits: Culture, Communication and Marketing is a unique program that combines in a complete and integrated way two complex and fascinating worlds, that of wine and that of spirits, in order to train flexible, open and multipurpose professionals of both the entire supply chain as well as in the sectors of communication, promotion and marketing.
The program includes about 70% of lessons on wine (around 350 hours) and 30% on spirits (around 150 hours) and provides, starting from a cultural and international approach, all the notions needed to know the branches of production and transformation (from the raw material to the ageing process) up until taste and consumption patterns.
The Master takes place in collaboration with the most important and prestigious companies in the sector: from the Maison du Whiskey and VELIER, to WSET (the course of study includes the preparation and examination for the WSET level III certificate), and includes among its teachers some of the best specialists in the world regarding the subjects of the program.
The University of Gastronomic Sciences have a high proportion of international students, with up to 80% from outside Italy. This allows students to acquire valuable cross-cultural skills and develop an international network thanks to:
a strong international community of students, representing 97 different countries;
interaction with visiting lecturers from around the world;
meetings with the protagonists of the food world during on-campus activities and study trips;
the businesses and other organizations belonging to the University of Gastronomic Sciences network;
a direct relationship with Slow Food’s projects and network.

In order to participate in the admissions to the Master, applicants must carry out the registration procedure on the UNISG website (www.unisg.it). It consists in: - registering online; - completing a motivational test; - uploading the documents for the application dossier.

Notes
The maximum number of students that may be enrolled is 25. The Board of Directors may decide to exceed the above-stated limit and enroll more students that meet the selection criteria. The minimum number of students that may be enrolled is 15.
The Master administration may choose, at its own discretion, to open enrollment to the Master to students who, though lacking the necessary academic requirements to enroll as students, have a solid professional background in the food and wine sector (these students will be hereinafter referred to as non-degree students).

The university fees include the following:
• all academic activities, including conferences, tastings, and seminars;
• study material (in digital format);
• WSET Level III certificate;
• all study trip expenses as programmed, including travel, food and lodging;
• participation in all UNISG and Slow Food events as included in the Master program;
• civil insurance coverage (during academic activities);
• private insurance policy covering urgent healthcare for non-European students;
• access to Career Office services (food sector job placement);
• enrollment certificates, receipts of payment, official transcripts and international legalization of diploma for non-Italian students, including mailing fees.

Rights of data subjects:

  • You can exercise the rights granted to you by current legislation on the protection of personal data, including the right to ask the data controller to access your personal data and to correct or erase them, restrict or object to processing of your data, in addition to the right of data portability within the limits of the provisions of art. 15-21 of Regulation the 2016/679;
