Course contents

PhD in Biomedical Science and technology is an interdisciplinary course which is attended by professors of physics, chemistry, Biology and medicine, belonging mainly to the Dipartimento di Scienze of Università Roma Tre. The course integrates various skills necessary for translational research, training in biomedical and applied sciences, and is organized in 2 training courses (CVS) closely interdependent, "Physical Biochemistry and Pharmacology and Physiology and Microbiology".

Over the last two decades there has been a radical change of scenery biomedical employment linked to the impact of technological development that has expanded the knowledge necessary to conduct themselves not only research, but also the service and control activities in this area. Degree paths (eg. Biology, Biotechnology, pharmaceuticals), while providing an adequate basic preparation do not guarantee that interdisciplinary advanced training (of "third level") that is the main goal of the PhD program in Biomedical Science and technology. The doctors that we form will not be only experienced users the most advanced biomedical technologies, but will contribute first-hand to the development of these. Employment opportunities for doctors in Biomedical Science and technology can be identified in:
-Universities and other institutions and bodies, public and private research bodies, in Italy and abroad
-Structures of the National Health System, Hospital Corporations, public and private specialized laboratory
-Centres of research and development of pharmaceutical and diagnostic products
-Pharmaceuticals and Diagnostics
-Biotechnological services centres in the biomedical area
-Public and private structures responsible for the exploitation of the intellectual property of high-tech products
