Course contents

L’obiettivo del Master è permettere agli studenti di approfondire gli strumenti tecnici e operativi relativi sia all’attività di scrittura che a quella di produzione e distribuzione di opere audiovisive: film, telefilm, serie tv, web series, documentari, animazione, videoclip, filmati pubblicitari, ecc.

Il corso affronta in dettaglio non solo gli aspetti creativi, ma anche quelli legali (diritto d’autore, contrattualistica, diritto del lavoro) ed economici (gestione, finanza, marketing) legati alla creazione e diffusione di opere audiovisive.

Lo studente ideale possiede capacità creative e organizzative, riesce a immaginare restando con i piedi per terra; è motivato a tradurre progetti in opere concrete. La figura professionale ideale che il Master vorrebbe formare è quella dello “showrunner”, termine usato nell’industria televisiva statunitense per indicare la persona responsabile delle operazioni giorno per giorno di una serie televisiva; in altre parole, la persona che “fa funzionare” la serie. Il termine showrunner è stato creato per identificare il produttore che detiene effettivamente l’autorità finale nell’ambito organizzativo e creativo della serie. È un ruolo provvisto di competenze artistiche e organizzative. Diversamente dai film, dove i registi hanno solitamente il controllo creativo della produzione, nella produzione di serie televisive lo showrunner è solitamente di “grado superiore” rispetto al regista.

Il MASPA però non si concentra solo sulla realizzazione di serie televisive. Anche il cinema ha un ruolo importante nel corso di studi. Gli studenti del Master si preparano a diventare “sceneggiatori che conoscono il mercato” oppure “produttori / distributori che sanno come si scrive una sceneggiatura”.

Il corso prevede una serie di lezioni frontali, laboratori, approfondimenti e testimonianze. Contempla anche un periodo di tirocinio in aziende o istituzioni del settore e prevede la preparazione di un elaborato finale. I docenti provengono dal mondo professionale (sceneggiatori, registi, produttori, distributori) e dal mondo accademico. Le lezioni si svolgono tre giorni a settimana (in lingua italiana).
