È istituito e attivato presso il Dipartimento di Scienze della Sanità Pubblica e Pediatriche dell’Università degli Studi di Torino, per l’anno accademico 2023/2024 il Corso di perfezionamento in Odontologia Forense e Analisi Resti Umani.
Lo scopo del corso di perfezionamento sono la formazione e l’aggiornamento professionale negli accertamenti peculiari della odontologia forense e dell’analisi post mortali di resti umani carbonizzati, scheletrizzati, decomposti e mummificati, con particolare attenzione agli aspetti relativi all’attribuzione personale, alla stima dell’età biologica e al profilo biologico di interesse forense oppure archeologico. Saranno presentate le possibili analisi dei reperti e delle evidenze dentali, nonché le attività di consulenza che possono essere svolte quale ausiliario del patologo forense e della polizia scientifica in caso di ritrovamento di un cadavere. Tra le tematiche affrontate l’analisi forense di lesioni da morso umano, i rilievi e restauri di resti umani mummificati, la ricerca e identificazione delle persone scomparse, l’etica e i diritti umani dei resti umani (in collaborazione con la Croce Rossa Italiana e l’Associazione Forensic Odontology for Human Rights).
Il corso avrà delle lezioni in inglese e in videoconferenza. Il corso è rivolto a odontoiatri, medici legali, biologi, archeologi e laurearti in scienze naturale, laureati in giurisprudenza e laureati in scienze delle professioni sanitarie tecnico-assistenziali.
Sbocchi professionali: acquisizione di competenze nella odontologia forense e conoscenze nella antropologia e archeologia forense, impiegabili per collaborazioni tecniche in accertamenti autoptici per finalità identificative con l’Autorità Giudiziaria, Tribunali Internazionali, Forze dell’Ordine, Dipartimento di Protezione Civile, Squadre DVI, CRI e Beni Culturali.








The goals of the postgraduate course are education and updating skills in forensic odontology and dental anthropology related to human remains and ‘nameless cadavers’, mass disaster management and DVI procedures, human bite marks analysis and dental age assessment and biological profile determination of living and deceased. This includes analysis of dental evidence, where required. There will be classes in English and also online. The course is addressed to dentists, forensic odontologists, medical examiners, biologists, archeologists and graduated in natural sciences, graduated in law and graduated in dental hygiene plus a bachelor’s degree

Professional involvements for dentists are medicolegal amd forensic consultations and expert witness reports for International Courts, Attorneys’ offices, Forensic and Medicolegal Institutes, Civil Protection Departments, DVI teams and NGOs and Cultural Heritage technical involvement.

The course is delivered in 10 meetings (3 hours on Friday, 5 hours on Saturday), plus the hours for individual study and training (10 hours) and will take place monthly from the 20-21 of October 2023 to 3-4 February 2024. Some lessons will be online, also to allow the recovery of any lessons not attended by the member.

Applications will be evaluated by the commission according to the following criteria: up to a maximum of 5 points for the degree vote; up to a maximum of 5 points for the examinations within the degree teachings relevant to the PG course; up to a maximum of 5 points for the evaluation of the thesis if in the discipline relevant to the PG course (if published it will not be evaluated as a publication); up to a maximum of 10 points for scientific publications relevant to the PG course; up to a maximum of 5 points for the evaluation of PhD in the discipline relevant to the PG course; up to a maximum of 5 points for specialist degree in legal medicine.
