Course contents

Il corso ha l’obiettivo di formare figure professionali in grado di intervenire sull’aggiornamento delle infrastrutture e ammodernamento delle industrie per renderle sostenibili, con maggiore efficienza delle risorse da utilizzare e una maggiore adozione di tecnologie pulite e rispettose dell'ambiente e degli stessi processi industriali, garantendo sistemi di produzione sostenibili e sicuri ed un uso efficiente delle risorse ambientali ed energetiche. Le tematiche sulle quali verteranno i temi di ricerca e formazione del Dottorato sono quelle contenute nella Strategia Nazionale di Sviluppo Sostenibile (SNSvS), nell’agenda 2030 e nel PNRR. Facendo leva sulle peculiarità sociali ed economiche del territorio, i Dottorandi impareranno ad applicare metodologie e utilizzare strumenti che consentono di quantificare gli impatti generati dall’introduzione, in azienda e sul territorio, di innovazioni nell’ambito di prodotti, processi e tecnologie. Il programma del Dottorato mira a fornire una formazione avanzata sulle tecniche, le architetture con riferimento anche agli strumenti dell’Intelligenza Artificiale. In particolare, il futuro dottore di ricerca sarà in grado anche di padroneggiare le principali tecniche di Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning e Genetic Algorithm e del Data Mining al fine di determinare, in autonomia, quale sia lo strumento migliore per risolvere un problema. Questo permette il trasferimento delle conoscenze (c.d. “Transfer Learning”) da un settore all’altro, formando una figura in grado di indirizzare l’innovazione.
Il Dottore di ricerca sarà anche in grado di padroneggiare gli aspetti giuridici e di fornire supporto e consulenza nello sviluppo di progettualità che per ciascun settore siano da un lato pienamente rispettose dei vincoli normativi, dall’altro siano in grado di intercettare al meglio le risorse finanziarie messe a disposizione dagli strumenti pubblicistici di programmazione.
Il Dottore di ricerca potrà essere formato anche sugli aspetti legati alla storia e alle politiche dei territori al fine di inquadrare anche dal punto di vista storico, geo-economico e geopolitico le problematiche legate allo sviluppo, alla sicurezza e alla integrazione nazionale e comunitaria.

I temi principali della formazione ruotano intorno al quadrilatero “ambiente-sostenibilità-sicurezza-innovazione” e riguardano: il Data Mining, l’analisi, la misurazione e la valutazione del rischio; la modellizzazione dei problemi per la ricerca di un ottimo; lo sviluppo e l’implementazione di reti diffuse (e.g., Blockchain) per il trasferimento di informazioni; l’analisi delle immagini (e.g., satellitari, diagnostiche); il design dei prodotti/processi secondo gli attuali standard; lo sviluppo di metodi e modelli matematici per il supporto alle decisioni, l’analisi territoriale.
Il Corso di dottorato promuove quindi la preparazione di nuovi dottori di ricerca in sviluppo sostenibile, promotori della costruzione di un futuro green, caratterizzato da politiche di salvaguardia delle matrici vitali e della biodiversità, perseguendo direttamente ed indirettamente alcuni degli obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibile (SDG)
dell’Agenda 2030, quali SDG 2 - SCONFIGGERE LA FAME, SDG 9 – IMPRESE, INNOVAZIONE ED INFRASTRUTTURE ed SDG 12 – CONSUMO E PRODUZIONI RESPONSABILI, nonché la missione del PNRR.

Employment opportunities

Il corso di Dottorato, grazie all’approccio interdisciplinare che fonde l’area ingegneristica con quella matematico-statistica, informatica, economica, geografico-economica e giuridica, permette di sviluppare expertise avanzate. Gli sbocchi occupazionali possono essere così suddivisi:
- Nella Comunità Accademica: i dottori di ricerca potranno intraprendere la carriera scientifica presso Atenei ed Enti di ricerca, italiani ed esteri. Potranno inoltre trovare impiego nello svolgimento, nel coordinamento e nella gestione di attività di ricerca e sviluppo tecnologico all’interno di strutture di ricerca e sviluppo di aziende e imprese attive nei campi di interesse del corso.
- Presso le PA: le competenze acquisite permetteranno ai dottori di ricerca di ricoprire ruoli dirigenziali, con particolare attenzione agli obiettivi di sostenibilità ed alle dinamiche legate al territorio.
- Presso i privati (imprese): i dottori di ricerca saranno in grado di risolvere problemi di elevata complessità che nascono dalla mission aziendale, operando in un contesto produttivo incentrato sulle tematiche della sostenibilità ambientale, del trasferimento tecnologico e dell’innovazione, al fine di sostenere la competitività in un mercato in continua evoluzione.
La figura formata nel corso di Dottorato avrà consuetudine a ricercare soluzioni ai problemi aziendali o di trasformazione sociale e territoriale nella prospettiva della sostenibilità, adottando l’approccio del ciclo di vita. Ciò consentirà al Dottorando di poter operare utilmente sia in azienda, per indirizzarla su un sentiero di crescita sostenibile, sia nella pubblica amministrazione per la definizione di politiche basate sui principi della sostenibilità.
