Course contents

Healthcare education, in a context of change and increasing complexity aimed at creating an integrated socio-healthcare system that ensures better and more effective management of changing citizens' health needs, must take into account the strong link between management and innovation (technological and organizational). This also means training professionals who play a key role as managers within the healthcare system, managers who understand the rules of public management and know how to apply them within healthcare realities, considering the specificities of each of them. Therefore, education needs to adapt the skills of a "new" profile of managers.
Article 3-bis of Legislative Decree no. 502/92, and in particular Legislative Decree no. 171 of August 4, 2016, state that, for registration in the national list for the appointment of General Directors, candidates must possess a certificate of attendance for a managerial training course in public health and healthcare organization and management, among other requirements. Article 3-bis, paragraph 9, of Legislative Decree no. 502/1992 provides for the possibility for regions to establish that the appointment of an Administrative Director is subject, by analogy to the provisions for the healthcare director in Article 1 of Presidential Decree no. 484 of December 10, 1997, to the attendance of a training course designed for the appointment of General Directors. Article 15, paragraph 8, of Legislative Decree no. 502/1992 states that the managerial training certificate must also be obtained by managers holding positions of complex structures within one year from the start of the appointment. These certificates are valid for seven years.
The training course for the revalidation of the managerial training certificate for healthcare management and complex structure executives in the National Health Service (SSN) fits into this context with the intention of consolidating and updating the previously acquired managerial skills (obtained through training programs aimed at obtaining the managerial training certificate), contextualizing them to complex healthcare organizations and the challenges associated with the role, in light of the development guidelines of national and regional healthcare policies, also considering the reforms dictated by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
The revalidation certificate must be obtained within and no later than one year from the expiration date of the previous certificate to allow registration for the next available course. Revalidation cannot be done in advance of the certificate's expiration year and will be issued through a specific certificate and subsequent update of the public register.
The didactic methodology of revalidation courses focuses on the study of concrete cases, testimonials, and the design of improvement interventions, with particular attention to the work reality of the participants.

Employment opportunities

Revalidation of the managerial training certificate and updating of previously acquired knowledge.
Specifically, upon completion of the course, participants who have completed the activities, fulfilled the requirements, and passed the final assessment will receive a certificate of attendance from the University and a revalidation certificate of managerial training from the Marche Region, in accordance with Legislative Decree no. 502/1992 and subsequent amendments, through the update of the public register.
The revalidation certificate of managerial training obtained will be valid for seven years, calculated by adding seven years to the date of obtaining the last managerial training certificate.
