Course contents

This 2nd level Specializing master is unique in the Italian educational landscape and has a long-standing tradition. It offers the opportunity to participants to develop the skills required to respond to the current and future challenges of energy transition and to link with the energy company ENI.
The energy transition, indeed, is occurring faster than any market observers had anticipated with the recent events accelerating what was already in motion in the industry such as the energy transition, net zero, and carbon phaseout – including the use of hydrogen

The 2nd level Specializing Master’s Programme MiNDS is addressed to 30 young recently graduated students who want to acquire a deep and high-level knowledge in the energy sector, with a focus on natural resources and energy transition.

The Master's programme offers high-standard training in the Energy sector with the aim to provide students with specialistic skills, focusing on Natural Resources and Energy Transition, underground energy storage and CO2 storage.
The deployment of technologies for energy generation from renewable sources, such as solar and wind power, is one of the answers to climate change. However, the need to balance intermittent power availability and fluctuating energy demand requires storage solutions targeted at large-scale storage. Nowadays, there are several solutions for H2 storage, among which underground storage is considered the most promising option.

Whether it is hydrogen or CO2, the world needs subsurface experts to make underground storage a reality. This is where the Master offers unique opportunities to gain competences and meet the new job market demand.

The course is a full time programme of approximately one academic year duration for a total of 80 ECTS, the programme includes 8 months of classroom activities with academic and corporate teaching staff and it is organized as follows:

Phase 1 - common courses - from the end of October 2023 to March 2024 classroom lectures, valid for all students;
Phase 2 - students will be divided in two different classes, Reservoir and Production & Drilling, for about 9 weeks of classroom lectures;
Phase 3 - internships - on the job training lasting about 10 weeks at Eni premises.ct work at Eni in San Donato Milanese (MI) will follow.

Other educational requirements
The programme is intended for both Italian and foreign citizens who must:
- have earned a Master’s degree (or equivalent qualification) within September, 30th 2023;
- to have a Master’s degree final grade corresponding to 100/110 (or equivalent);
- aged not older than 29 years on December 31st, 2023 (born after 1993);
- prove to have a good knowledge of the English language, which Eni will verify under its selection standards.

Admission selection
The Unit of Specializing Master's Programmes, Lifelong Learning and Challenge, having received the applications, will evaluate the eligibility of each application based on the admission requirements provided for in Art. 3 and will publish the list of eligible candidates admitted to Eni selection process (see Art. 5) on the online University Bulletin and on the Selection Outcomes page of the Specializing Master Programmes’ website. Only non-Italian university degrees will be assessed by a specific board chaired by the Programmes Coordinator in order to evaluate the foreign qualification based on the admission requirements provided for in Art. 3 of the call for applications. Eni and its affiliated companies will carry out the selection process in line with their internal procedures and policies (https://www.eni.com/it-IT/carriere/master-minds.html), in order to select the candidates who will take part in the 2nd level specializing Master’s Programme MiNDS. Eni, in accordance to its recruitment policy, will contact the applicants who will be assessed through different following selection steps such as an English test, in order to verify language level, and an attitudinal and technical test. The selection process will be held approximately by the end of September 2023 and will be carried out online, according to the number of applications received. Indications and instructions on the selection process will be communicated by Eni to applicants by email in the lead-up to the selection process. At the end of the selection process, Eni will communicate the results to each applicant. Those who successfully pass the selection will be enrolled in the 2nd level Master MiNDS and will receive a monthly participation scholarship from Eni for the entire duration of the programme.

The participation in the 2nd level Specializing Master’s programme is free of charge for admitted students.
SCHOLARSHIP
Participants will receive the scholarship installments directly from Eni Corporate University, as follows: a monthly scholarship of 1,500 € gross, before taxes, as prescribed by Italian law.
