Course contents

The Master Course in Governance Sciences provides an advanced multidisciplinary programme focused on political and social sciences: political science, history, sociology, economics, law, political-economic geography, in addition to English and French linguistics.
The programme, reorganized and renewed following an extensive survey with labour market subjects and past graduates, is structured in three paths, designed in order to develop professional profiles that can be spent in three main work fields:
◼ the governance and management of local territories (employment in public organizations at sub-national level or ministerial departments specialised in local development and relations with the territory; consultancy companies operating in the field of local policies; third sector organizations operating in the field of public utilities);
◼ organisation and management of human resources (personnel selection and management offices in public and private organisations, trade unions, trade associations, public and private employment agencies);
◼ research (universities, public and private research institutes, think tanks) and higher education (in classes A18-human sciences and A46-legal-economic sciences, after integration of any training debts).
Most of the lessons given in the course of study are in mixed form: lectures by teachers, meetings with experts and professionals from outside the academy, classroom discussions, group work, drafting of short papers, oral presentations, simulations, field work. Several courses have a practical focus, providing skills directly usable at work, such as European planning, management of complex organizations and working relationships, conflict management techniques, etc.
The course promotes highly qualified internship experiences in public and private institutions, offering the possibility to develop customized training projects.
