Course contents

In big and medium-sized enterprises, business communication is a fundamental driving force for managing and developing both internal organization and external relations; similarly, in smaller enterprises, the importance of communication is ever more stressed.
This Second-Cycle Degree Course, completely delivered in English, aims at training managers in the fields of business communication, products and international development – that is, global managers able to handle the internal and external communication of businesses, to deal with business specific projects and products, as well as technological and cultural products. This course provides students with the economic and managerial knowledge necessary to cope with business world effectively; furthermore, it enables students to gain expertise in the following areas: human resource management, local and international development, decision-taking processes, semiotic analysis of advertising and consumer behaviour, market research techniques, organizational ICTs, arts and music production management.
Through purposely-thought elective teaching/learning activities and vocational activities, this course aims at being a bridge with the business world thanks to professionals’ classes and workshops. Teaching activity will focus mainly on case-studies through laboratories and practical lessons; it will be student-oriented, with periodically-administered check-in interim tests in all course units and a constant use of the e-learning platform. Furthermore, students will experience a stimulating and friendly environment, where traineeships in enterprises or abroad are actively promoted. All students will be supported, over their academic career, by customised services aimed at guiding them, fostering their success during the studies as well as strengthening and developing their skills – from English language mastery to other individual and relational skills, highly requested in job interviews and usable in labour market.

Funzione in un contesto di lavoro
Lo specialista in comunicazione è una professione in continuo cambiamento che può essere svolta in modo autonomo o strutturato in diversi contesti organizzativi, dalle piccole e grandi imprese private agli enti pubblici, alle organizzazioni non-profit nazionali e internazionali, dai media alle agenzie pubblicitarie.

Le principali funzioni che può essere chiamato a svolgere sono:

progettazione e gestione di piani di comunicazione e piani di stakeholder engagement, soprattutto nelle sempre più richieste aree della responsabilità sociale e della sostenibilità ambientale e dei processi e dei prodotti o servizi;
predisposizione di bilanci sociali, rendiconti e report tematici in autonomia o in staff rispetto ad aree tecniche aziendali o ad altri professionisti; supporto alla progettazione e gestione del cambiamento e dell'innovazione aziendale;
coordinamento di campagne di comunicazione e marketing, anche in ottica transmediale; social media management e community management per lo sviluppo e il monitoraggio dell'immagine dell'organizzazione e del posizionamento aziendale;
web analysis e gestione delle relazioni sul web, analisi di contesto, profilazione dei fabbisogni dei consumatori/utenti, gestione delle relazioni e dei processi comunicativi interni ed esterni.


Competenze associate alla funzione

Conoscenze dei principi economico-aziendali, della pianificazione strategica e del monitoraggio e valutazione dei risultati aziendali;
conoscenze avanzate della comunicazione aziendale con particolare riferimento alla rendicontazione sulla responsabilità socio-ambientale e per il marketing;
conoscenze avanzate di strumenti per la comunicazione automatica/digitale e per la gestione delle relazione sul web;
capacità di elaborare piani di comunicazione strategica e rendicontazioni aziendali su svariati temi e indirizzati a diversi soggetti;
capacità di progettazione ed esecuzione di ricerche di mercato o analisi di contesti territoriali, soprattutto dal punto di vista socio-economico, istituzionale e delle interazioni ambiente-organizzazione, padroneggiando tecniche e strumenti per le rilevazioni tramite questionari, interviste, focus-group, etc. e per l'analisi di dati;
abilità di coordinamento di team, di organizzazione e gestione di relazioni e di progettazione di sistemi informativi (= esseri umani + macchine) efficienti a supporto dei flussi comunicativi di un'organizzazione.

I laureati potranno svolgere le funzioni in molteplici tipi di organizzazioni, oltre che come lavoratori autonomi/consulenti esterni.


Per esempio all'interno di: agenzie specializzate nel settore della comunicazione e del marketing, mass-media, case editrici, piccole-medie imprese di altri settori, grandi imprese, enti pubblici locali e nazionali, aziende sanitarie, istituzioni internazionali, fondazioni, musei, partiti e movimenti politici, organizzazioni di cooperazione internazionale, organizzazioni per la rappresentanza degli interessi, sindacati, organizzazioni non-profit, nazionali e internazionali, di tipo culturale, sociale, ambientale, ecc.
