Course contents

Provide a thorough and updated knowledge of the molecular and functional properties of cells and transfer the latest technology for use in the biomedical field the same and their products. Cellular models are treated as a priority:

gameti and embryos of mammals;
cellule fetal stem cells, adult and cancer;
cellular models of disease (neuro)-inflammatory, neurodegenerative and cancer.
The in-depth knowledge of molecular systems and control mechanisms of cellular function is guaranteed during the teaching and thanks to intensive basic research carried out at the laboratories available to the doctorate. The teaching and research will be aimed at developing innovative strategies for the use of molecules, cells and macromolecular systems in the biomedical field in the following contexts:

nutriaceutics development of food;
models in vitro and in vivo monitoring of the effects of nutraceuticals and nutrigenomici of foods, nutrients, trace elements and xenobiotics;
Development of biopharmaceuticals;
identification of innovative therapies "cell-free and cellbased";
models for the evaluation of the bioavailability of materials of natural origin and synthesis;
definition of predictive models and computational systems biology;
Structural and computational analysis aimed at "drug design."

Obiettivi Scientifici: fornire un'approfondita conoscenza delle basi molecolari e funzionali di cellule nonché trasferire le più moderne tecnologie applicate all'uso di molecole e cellule ln campo biomedico per: 1. analisi dello stato dell'ambiente a livello di comunità, organismi e nei contesti cellulari e subcellulare; 2. valutazione ln vitro e ln vivo degli effetti nutraceutici e nutrigenomici di alimenti; 3. Sviluppo di biofarmaci; 4. identificazione di terapie Innovative; 5. sviluppo di test diagnostici; 6. creazione di modelli predittivi computazionali.
Obiettivi Formativi: creare una nuova generazione di giovani ricercatori che operino entro un contesto Internazionale ed Intersettoriale di R&I capaci di coniugare una forte conoscenza settoriale con abilità trasversali.
Obiettivi Programmatici: elevare la qualità del corso di dottorato attraverso la sua candidatura in programmi europei e nazionali. Questo ha consentito al COfSO di dottorato di Intercettare con continuità risorse aggiuntive ln prestigiosi progetti competitivi fra cui: 2 progetti di dottorato MSCA-ITN-2015 e 2020 finanziati, 1 progetto di dottorato MSCA-ETN-2020 finanziato, 1 progetto MSCA-COFUND 2015 finanziato, 10 borse PON industriali, 2 FSC selezionate, 1 MSCA Co-fund 2019 valutato positivamente e in lista di riserva, 1 MSCA Co-fund 2020 valutato positivamente e ln lista dl riserva.
