Course contents

This course is primarily aimed at students with an economics, business studies, or management engineering background who have a keen interest in the use of big data and quantitative methods, including artificial intelligence models, useful to the design of economic policies both at the micro- and macro-economic level, to the strategic choices of companies, and to the finance and insurance fields.
The course aims to deepen both the computational, statistical, and econometric aspects related to the processing of big data and digital data, as well as the skills to interpret the underlying phenomena.
Students on the "DABS - Data Analytics for Business and Society" course will acquire data processing skills to interpret and analyse complex phenomena in the fields of economics, strategy, marketing, human resources, finance, accounting and social sciences in general. Furthermore, the course will provide advanced skills on machine learning techniques to extract patterns and predictive models from digital data.

The programme is divided into two study paths, "Business Application" and "Fintech and Bigtech", which share the same quantitative training, with a strong basis of information technologies and the learning methods that are typical of artificial intelligence, statistical learning methods and mathematical optimisation methods to support decision-making and risk analysis.

For Academic year 2024/2025, admission onto the Master’s Degree programme in Data Analytics for Business and Society is limited admission and require, as well as the possession of an adequate personal preparation and specific curricula requirements, taking and passing a selective test.
Enrolment is subject to the position a candidate holds on the ranking list.
Understanding of English language at level B2 is also required. The list of certifications and cases of exemption are available on the language requirements webpage. Each knowledge will be verified by the office at the moment of enrolment.
For Academic year 2024/2025, 2 selection sessions are provided.
