Course contents

The training project is aimed at providing students with adequate scientific preparation to develop highly qualified research activities in the fields of Energy, Systems, Land and Construction Engineering. The research path includes an organic program of training actions to define qualified figures capable of addressing the complexities of engineering for sustainable development in innovative and internationally relevant areas that affect systems for which a multidisciplinary approach is required. The topics of the doctorate also include the fields of "Big Data" and "Industry 4.0" as demonstrated by the fields of interest of the members of the Board of Teachers and the doctoral topics of many students who currently attend the course. The multiplicity of scientific skills and research activities and the multidisciplinary nature of the Department results from the list of themes in which it is divided, grouped into the following cultural macro-sectors: Energy, Electrical Engineering, Systems Cost and Management Engineering , Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urban planning. This multiplicity, combined with the variety of laboratories, ensures a stimulating environment for students to study and develop research. The departmental structure also guarantees sustainability for periods of study abroad or in other qualified places in Italy.
The objectives of the PhD Program in Energy, Systems, Land and Construction Engineering of the University of Pisa are aimed at providing students with an in-depth and multidisciplinary scientific preparation, aimed at the development of highly qualified research activities. in the field of energy engineering (electrical engineering, electrical energy engineering, applied and technical physics, machines and systems for energy and the environment and measurements), systems (management and cost engineering both oriented to design, economic, organizational and technological skills), of the territory (urban and territorial planning and design, hydraulic, technological and infrastructural networks, hydrology and hydraulic land protection, pollution phenomena in environmental systems and environmental impact studies) and construction (hydraulics and hydraulic constructions , sanitary and environmental engineering, construction engineering, architectural and technological design, heritage conservation-restoration and history of architecture). The research path includes an organic program of training actions to define qualified figures capable of facing the complexities of an Engineering for sustainable development in innovative and internationally relevant fields that involve systems for which a multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary. The topics of the doctorate also include the fields of "Big Data" and "Industry 4.0" as demonstrated by the fields of cultural interest of the Board of Teachers and the doctoral topics of many students who currently attend the course. This multiplicity, combined with the variety of laboratories, ensures a stimulating environment for students to study and develop research. The departmental structure also guarantees sustainability for periods of study abroad or in other qualified places in Italy.
