Course contents

Prehistory and archaeology are based on both a historical/literary knowledge, necessary for the interpretation of aspects related to the cultural component of the evolutionary process of man, is a scientific knowledge for the interpretation of the environment that serves as background to the interpretation and analysis of prehistoric and archaeological sites. The integration of different disciplinary fields combines knowledge related to anthropology, human paleontology, chronology, evolution of fauna and flora, the archeometry and geology of the Quaternary with the one most closely connected to the history of man in its material and immaterial manifestations, from the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages, topography, the structuring of settlements, material evidence, artistic and literary sources.
The course pursues the fundamental directions of knowledge, including participation in practical field activities, scientific publicity and the exploitation of cultural heritage.
The master’s degree is therefore an opportunity to:
- to support and develop the latest scientific guidelines for archaeological research and training
- to meet the application and professional needs of those areas of the Antiquities Sciences which are essentially based on the study of life contexts and material documentation
- to extend a broad-based training course with subjects of a strong interdisciplinary character
- Enable greater knowledge integration and transfer of skills
