Course contents

The Master's Degree Program in ' Mobility and Infrastructure in Port Engineering' is a graduate program that can be accessed if you hold a bachelor's degree in the L-9 - Industrial Engineering (D.M. 270/04) or the X class - Industrial Engineering (D.M. 509/99) class, acquired from any university, or an equivalent foreign degree recognized as suitable. In addition, a sufficient knowledge, equivalent to level B1, of at least one European Union language in addition to Italian is required, as proven by passing an appropriate exam/test for a 3 CFU (Crediti Formativi Universitari) course in the previous academic path or by possessing a B1 level European-recognized language certificate. The educational regulations for the study programs outline the forms and methods of verifying language proficiency.
The Master's Degree Program in Engineering for Infrastructure and Mobility in Port Areas is open for admission and aims to train professionals capable of independently conceiving, designing, and managing logistics, energy, and technological infrastructure in port areas, as well as mechanical design and, in general, engineering issues related to naval interests. It also focuses on leading innovation processes and conducting highly complex research and development activities. This program will enable the creation of professional roles such as port logistics manager, energy manager for industrial activities in port areas, and designer of energy and technological infrastructure in port areas.
Graduates in Engineering for Infrastructure and Mobility in Port Areas will have a solid foundation in both mechanical and related fields with a high-level understanding of the technical and scientific issues underlying various engineering applications and innovations. Contributions from various cultural areas will contribute to the foundation of the engineer's culture and professional profile. The educational program is designed to take into account the interdisciplinary nature of the course. In terms of basic technical training, students will be provided with knowledge of the English language or one of the major foreign languages of the European Union in addition to Italian (French, German, Spanish). Furthermore, in the distinctive areas of mechanical engineering, students will be able to deepen their knowledge in the following fields: mechanical design and, in general, engineering issues related to naval and port interests, the activities under the purview of an energy manager for major energy conversion systems used in port areas, typical logistics and urban planning issues in port areas, guidelines for infrastructure design in port areas, knowledge of key materials and their technological properties essential for the design of components to be used in the naval sector.
The degree course takes place at the Faculty of Engineering located in Via Brecce Bianche and upon stipulation of a specific Agreement, in the spaces of the Municipality of Ancona, made available to the Central Adriatic Sea Port Authority, located at the Mole Vanvitelliana. The location has a sufficient number of classrooms for conducting lectures. The study rooms and the administrative office are part of the central body of the Faculty of Engineering at Via Brecce Bianche. All classrooms are equipped with a blackboard, screen, projector, and all the necessary equipment to enable online connections and teleconferencing.

Funzione in un contesto di lavoro:
Il laureato Magistrale in Ingegneria delle infrastrutture energetiche e della logistica in ambito portuale ha acquisito tutte le competenze e le conoscenze per coordinare gruppi di lavoro nella gestione energetica delle attività produttive portuali e nelle attività di gestione del porto stesso. La formazione ricevuta durante il CdS consente al laureato di progettare infrastrutture energetiche, in ambito tradizionale e rinnovabile, a servizio delle attività portuali; allo stesso tempo il Laureato può rivestire il ruolo di Energy Manager delle infrastrutture di cui sopra.

Competenze associate alla funzione:
- Progettazione di sistemi di scambio termico e di sistemi di propulsione in ambito navale.
- Valutazione delle prestazioni di componenti e sistemi energetici.
- Dimensionamento e progettazione degli impianti per la produzione, lo stoccaggio e la distribuzione dell’energia in ambito portuale.
- Definizione di piani di sviluppo energetici per Sistemi Portuali.
- Conoscenza dei principali sistemi di accumulo dell'energia in ambito portuale nelle sue varie forme: elettrica, termica e frigorifera e delle strategie di gestione degli accumuli.
- Conoscenza sulla valutazione di impatto ambientale in ambito portuale e sui sistemi di riduzione dello stesso.

Il laureato Magistrale in Ingegneria delle infrastrutture energetiche e della logistica in ambito portuale ha acquisito tutte le competenze e conoscenze per coordinare gruppi di lavoro nella pianificazione di infrastrutture energetiche, anche strategiche per il porto, funzionali alle attività commerciali, turistiche e industriali del porto. Grazie alla formazione ricevuta durante il CdS il Laureato è in grado anche di supportare il sistema di gestione portuale nelle scelte relative alla mobilità di terra e di prossimità e alla logistica nella gestione delle merci. Svolge, anche con responsabilità di coordinamento, compiti impegnativi di modellazione e progettazione funzionale e strutturale di infrastrutture in ambito portuale.

Competenze associate alla funzione:
- Organizzazione della logistica portuale.
- Definizione dei piani e coordinamento delle attività di manutenzione dei servizi e dei macchinari.
- Progettazione di infrastrutture energetiche all’interno di piani urbanistici portuali.
- Conoscenza di base dei modelli per l’analisi di sistemi complessi e la ricerca di soluzioni ottimali.
- Conoscenza avanzata sull'insieme delle attività che consentono di trasformare il progetto meccanico del prodotto in progetto di fabbricazione in ambito navale.
