Course contents

The Professional Development and Qualification Course in BIM SPECIALIST - BIM Methodology on Autodesk Revit Platform is primarily aimed at graduates of first and second level in the disciplines specified in the admission requirements, as well as professional figures employed by companies or firms, even those with a diploma, operating in the construction sector who wish to focus specifically on Building Information Modeling (BIM) topics.
A profound transformation of the processes of design, construction, and management of the built environment is impacting the construction sector, moving from a predominantly analog approach to one where decision-making processes, for the entire life cycle of buildings and infrastructure, will be determined and managed by data and digital models.
Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a fundamental element to support this type of change, not only from the perspective of responsible use of the digital platform but, more importantly, concerning a deep cultural, scientific, and professional transformation.
BIM is a process involving the creation and management of a digital representation of the technical, physical, and functional characteristics of a building complex. This process generates a digital model that allows construction professionals to share and modify information and resources in real-time at every stage, from concept, design, construction, maintenance, and management of the building and infrastructure life cycle, to their eventual demolition.
Starting from the BIM operational framework, according to the main international standards, students will be guided through lessons and examples to gain a comprehensive view of project control, management, and modeling tools.
The course aims to provide a broad understanding of BIM procedures and advanced training on Autodesk Revit, a "parametric" software dedicated to BIM, where designers can create and modify directly and automatically what they design: opaque and transparent envelopes, vertical and horizontal load-bearing structures, continuous or point elements, vertical and horizontal connections, finishes, furnishings, and various complements.
Autodesk Revit, which will be the software used in the course, is one of the most widely used and recognized BIM Authoring platforms in the world.
The course, lasting 150 hours, will be conducted by qualified instructors who operate according to international technologies and standards and will provide a certification of competence in basic BIM technologies. The professional training will be for the "BIM Specialist" operator.
The course aims to train technicians capable of being integrated into the active process of design, verification, execution, and management of construction according to Building Information Modeling (BIM) criteria.
