Course contents

On the basis of a solid basic training, the graduate will be able to identify the pedagogical nature of the issues and to offer reflections and educational interventions aimed at the development of education.
The formative course aims to:
- Provide solid and comprehensive theoretical and practical skills and knowledge in sciences pedagogical and educational;
- Provide ability to design and manage detailed studies and researchs and to develop and to rework the educational models of intervention proposed or implemented;
- Consolidate capacity for analysis of educational needs through the complex set of knowledges and pedagogical tools;
- Develop appropriate skills for analysis and interpretation of various educational and formative contexts, formal, non formal and informal
- Develop a thorough knowledge of models of educational research and know the methods and tools.
Graduates in Pedagogical Sciences can be employed within educational and training institutions, associations and institutions of socio-cultural promotion, foundations, charities, social structures in public or private management, assuming the role of pedagogist; coordinator of a team social -psycho-pedagogical; manager of education and training organizzations; expert in education and formative research in universities or in areas of excellence; consultant in the services of training and cooperation of ONG and non-profit.
According to the current Italian legislation (DPR n. 19, 14/05/2016; DL 59, 19/04/2017), the acquisition of 24 CFU credits in anthropo-psycho-pedagogical disciplines are required to gain the access to selections for teaching Philosophy, Psychology and Educational Sciences (classe di concorso ex. A036, A-18 “Philosophy and Human Science”) in some Upper Secondary Schools. These 24 credits are to be acquired either within or in addition to the main Degree course in Planning and Management of Educational and Formative Services (Laurea MagistraleLM50).

Degree in Pedagogical Sciences is also a curriculum appropriate to the field of educational research.

In order to be selected for an admission interview, applicants to LM 85 - Pedagogical sciences, must meet the following minimum academic criteria:
18 ECTS in educational science modules (from the M-PED disciplinary area)
27 ECTS in the following disciplinary areas, with least one module completed per area:
- psychology (M-PSI)
- sociology-anthropology (SPS or M-DEA)
- philosophy (M-FIL)
Candidates must also have attained Level B1 (as defined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) in a second EU language. Where applicants who do not hold a current language certificate, their second language competence will be assessed during the interview itself.
