Course contents

The course deals with the new theoretical perspectives on gender and identity and aims to train the work of professionals in the field of communication and cultural policies: in particular, the course will focus on the issues connected to gender difference, the diversification of identity choices, the role of women in society and the interpretation of sustainability.
An international and cross-educational teaching panel interdisciplinarity and internationality of the teaching panel constitutes the frame of a course that aims to provide professionals with a critical vision and with relevant communication skills by analyzing theories and epistemologies taken from the feminist, post-colonial and queer studies.
The course will train professionals able to work for public institutions, NGOs, national and international cultural institutions and in journalism and the new media, especially in the field of fashion and the arts. The acquired competences will also provide the professionals with the background needed to apply to post-graduate or PhD international research programs in the field of feminist, post-colonial and queer studies.

Il master universitario ha l’obiettivo di formare figure professionali che intendono approfondire criticamente e gestire questioni connesse alla novità del protagonismo femminile nella società, alla diversificazione delle scelte identitarie e alle interpretazioni della sostenibilità, per inserirsi nel panorama internazionale della comunicazione e delle politiche culturali. Le prospettive occupazionali sono legate alla formazione di una figura flessibile, che può lavorare presso istituzioni pubbliche, Ong, istituzioni culturali nazionali e internazionali, ma anche nel campo della comunicazione giornalistica, e nel settore dei nuovi media con particolare attenzione alla moda e alle arti. Allo stesso tempo, chi completerà il master acquisirà le competenze per partecipare anche a programmi di ricerca post-lauream o di dottorato internazionali nel campo degli studi femministi, postcoloniali e queer.
