Course contents

This PhD programme is an international graduate programme jointly run by the Universities of Verona, the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and the Philipps University of Marburg (Germany).

We offer courses for all levels of linguistic analysis (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, lexicon). PhD projects can be carried out in all these fields and also in the fields of sociolinguistics, dialogue, discourse and conversation analysis, typical and atypical language development, computational linguistics, Germanic and Romance philology.

Specific research interests shared by the three universities regard language contact, German and Romance dialects, minority languages, and multilingualism. PhD students will participate in research projects carried out at the three universities and in cooperation with other research institutions. Languages of instruction are English (main language), German and Italian.
