Course contents

The Doctoral Programme in Biomolecular Sciences aims to:

- Provide the necessary skills to carry out highly qualified research activities independently, with originality, creativity, and scientific rigour, at Universities as well as public or private Research Institutions;
- Train researchers in mastering the use of the scientific method in tackling and solving problems, and developing an aptitude for teamwork and for taking part in international research collaborations;
- To train researchers capable of exercising their knowledge and skills in different fields, thanks to a solid preparation that adequately responds to the increasingly inter- and multi-disciplinary nature of the life sciences;
- To train researchers with profiles that are not only academic, but that can be integrated into the world of pharmaceutical and biotechnological enterprises (industries and start-ups);
- Provide expertise in research and development processes, technology transfer and entrepreneurship typical of the pharmaceutical industry and the biotech sector;
- Provide skills for communicating research results, both verbally and in writing, as well as for developing scientific projects;
- To train experts in Biomolecular Sciences with complementary skills in Quantitative Biology that can be used on a wide range of fields in multidisciplinary research.

Students have to undergo a public selection to be admitted to the programme.
The Doctoral Programme in Biomolecular Sciences is a 3 year course that includes research and study activities attendance to courses and seminar cycles, research and study period abroad.
The Doctoral Programme is activated by the Department of Cellular Computational and Integrative Biology (CIBIO) .

Protocols of cooperation, which include support for teaching and research as well as specific scholarships, have been established with the following research institutes:

  • You can exercise the rights granted to you by current legislation on the protection of personal data, including the right to ask the data controller to access your personal data and to correct or erase them, restrict or object to processing of your data, in addition to the right of data portability within the limits of the provisions of art. 15-21 of Regulation the 2016/679;
