Le prime due edizioni del Master sono state attivate in collaborazione con l'Archivio di Stato di Ferrara, il Servizio Biblioteche e Archivi del Comune di Ferrara, l’Arcidiocesi di Ferrara-Comacchio e il Capitolo della Cattedrale di Ferrara.

Il Master offre una solida formazione specialistica, basata su un funzionale rapporto fra lezioni teoriche ed esercitazioni pratiche, avvalendosi del vasto patrimonio documentario e librario conservato presso le istituzioni ferraresi.

Mira a formare figure altamente specializzate nei settori strategici della tutela, promozione e valorizzazione dei beni archivistici e bibliotecari. Un’attenzione particolare è riservata all’evoluzione tecnologica informatica, che negli ultimi anni ha rivoluzionato non soltanto il settore documentaristico, librario e dei beni culturali in generale, ma anche il metodo e l’intero mondo della ricerca.

Il Master fornisce competenze specialistiche in materia di lavoro per archivisti e bibliotecari, ma anche per gli addetti agli istituti culturali in generale. Gli insegnamenti erogati nel corso, supportati da numerose attività pratiche, permettono altresì di acquisire, coerentemente con gli standard nazionali e internazionali delle rispettive discipline, informazioni e capacità gestionali e comunicative utili per coloro che, se non ne fanno già parte, intendono inserirsi nel mondo della ricerca.

Il Master rappresenta anche un’occasione di formazione/aggiornamento professionale per archivisti, bibliotecari, addetti agli istituti culturali preposti alla tutela, promozione e valorizzazione dei beni archivistici e librari (antichi e moderni).
