Course contents

The course promotes the development of inter-language and intercultural communication enabling students to master translation and consecutive interpreting skills required to work in international aid and institutional, multimedia and media communication.
Starting from academic year 2012 – 13 students have the opportunity to gain the French/Italian joint degree. Indeed, students may also be awarded the Master's degree in French- Italian Etudes Interculturelle (EIFI) awardedby partner university 'Blaise-Pascal' in Clermont Ferrand, France. The qualification is officially recognized in both countries.

Employment opportunities

Students are expected to work as interpreters and translators in international aid and institutional, multimedia and media communication. Graduates will become experts in managing inter and intralanguage and intercultural communication among multilingual community members, whether they are representatives of businesses, cultural bodies, translation agencies that provide their service to cinema and TV, minority ethnic communities. They may work in key roles in transnational communication for a range of boards, institutions and international bodies.

  • The provision of data marked with * is required for the assistance service requested by the user, which is why the failure to provide such data prevents the provision of the above service offered by the AlmaLaurea Interuniversity Consortium;
  • The data provided, pursuant to art. 6, 1st paragraph, lett. b) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, are processed only as strictly necessary for the fulfilment of this service and are stored for the time strictly necessary for the provision of the assistance, in any case for a period not exceeding 12 months after the fulfilment of the request.

  • For the provision of the service specified above, the data you provided may be transmitted to other parties (e.g. CINECA) appointed to provide technological support, as data processors. The list of data processors of the data for which the AlmaLaurea Interuniversity Consortium is data controller is published at www.almalaurea.it/info/condizioni/privacy.

Rights of data subjects:

  • You can exercise the rights granted to you by current legislation on the protection of personal data, including the right to ask the data controller to access your personal data and to correct or erase them, restrict or object to processing of your data, in addition to the right of data portability within the limits of the provisions of art. 15-21 of Regulation the 2016/679;
  • Pursuant to art. 77 of the Regulation, if you believe that the processing of your data violates the legislation on the protection of personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority or the control authority of the EU Member State in which you usually reside, work or the place where the alleged violation occurred;
