Survey selection
You can select the survey year and related documentation based on degree programme level (aggregation of degree programme type), degree programme type and the years since graduation. The availability of documentation by degree programme level (aggregation of degree programme type), degree programme type and years since graduation may vary from one year of the survey to another.
Selection of cohort
It is possible to limit the analysis to particular selected groups, for example on the basis of the degree programme type, the university, the field of study and, if active, the faculty/department/school, the degree classification or the degree programme.
Comparison columns
After having selected the survey and the cohort to be analysed, you can break it down according to a further variable chosen from those available (e.g. gender, employment status at graduation) and thus perform a direct comparison.
Degree programme level (aggregation of degree programme type)
The choice of the degree programme level affects the choice of the variable degree programme type. In order to activate the variables degree classification, degree programme and enrolment in a second-level degree programme, it is essential to make a choice in degree programme type. The second-level includes the graduates of pre-Bologna process reform Primary Education Sciences (available until 2018 graduates) and other pre-reform courses graduates (available until the 2011 survey). For first-level graduates at three and five years from graduation, however, documentation is not available (for details see Methodological Notes).
Degree programme type
The choice of the degree programme type affects other selection and comparison variables (e.g. "enrolment in a second-level degree programme" is active only after choosing "first level" in degree programme type). Starting from the 2009 and up to 2018 graduates survey, the pre-Bologna process reform Primary Education Sciences degree programme is also available. The other pre-reform courses are only available until the 2011 survey. You can make comparisons by degree programme type by selecting the "all" voice in degree programme type and in degree programme level (aggregation of degree programme type). In this case the variables listed in the Comparison Columns section will be disabled because the choice only determines the type of comparison for degree programme level (aggregation of degree programme type) or degree programme type. For first-level graduates at three and five years from graduation, however, documentation is not available (for details see Methodological Notes).
Years since graduation
The available documentation varies depending on the survey year. You can make comparisons by years since graduation by selecting the "all" voice in years since graduation after selecting the degree programme level (aggregation of degree programme type). In this case the variables listed in the Comparison Columns section will be disabled because the choice automatically determines the type of comparison.
Faculty/department/school
The information is only available after having selected the university. The description of the structure specifies in brackets whether it is a Faculty (Fac.), a Department (Dep.) or a School (School).
Broad field of study
It represents the field of study classification adopted by the italian Ministry of Education starting from 2020. The classification has been used also for the previous surveys.
Field of study
It represents the degree classification adopted by the italian Ministry of Education starting from 2020. The classification has been used also for the previous surveys
Degree classification
The ministerial code of the degree classification is specified in brackets (according to the provisions of Ministerial Decree no. 509/1999 and subsequent Ministerial Decree no. 270/2004).
Degree programme
The variable associates a unique code to each individual degree programme activated at a given university (code of the Off.F. educational offer database): therefore it can only be selected after having made a choice of the degree programme type, the university and at least one variable among Faculty, field of study or degree classification. The ministerial code of the degree classification is specified in brackets.
Pure/hybrid (available until the 2011 survey)
"Pure" graduates are those who have completed their entire studies in the M.D. 509/1999 and M.D. 270/2004 system. "Hybrids", on the other hand, received a degree with the contribution of educational credits earned with pre-reform M.D. 509/1999 programmes. This variable is only available until the 2011 survey.
